Will police officers bother ticketing someone who is 17 for smoking?

Like, if I were walking down the sidewalk smoking a cigarette and I'm 17 and look it and a cop drives by. Can I get away with tobacco if I have no license or ID. is there anything I can say to get the cop to think I'm 18 and leave me alone, or will he even bother to stop if I look remotely old enough?
